Who is the program for?
This Program is for High School students with a parent or guardian who has a chronic or debilitating health condition.
What are the goals and objectives of the program?
Voices of Impact Teen Leadership Academy is a 8-week Intensive Program based in Watts, California, dedicated to equipping teenagers with the tools to advocate for the correction of health disparities that directly affect their parents and guardians.
Each week is composed of intense training, guidance, and mentorship from Voices of Impact staff, healthcare professionals, and specialists. These health advocates will assist them in creating a research presentation on a chronic debilitating condition of their choice and how that condition impacts the dynamic of home life with children.
This program aims to teach teens whose parents suffer from chronic and debilitating issues how to advocate for policies and system reforms that will make a difference in their homes.
We are currently seeking teenagers living in the following cities:
